Symbiosis is a process where two plants or animals live together and help each other to thrive. Beans and peas both form a symbiotic relationship with certain species of rhizobia, a naturally occurring soil bacterium. These tiny bacteria live within the bean roots and extract nitrogen from the air (which is 78% nitrogen), thus feeding the plants. For centuries, knowledgeable gardeners have helped this friendship along by dusting dormant rhizobia bacteria onto moistened bean and pea seed just before planting. It's a fully natural, simple process which takes only a moment, but pays benefits all season long. Moisten the seed and dust with our special pea and bean inoculant. One and a half ounce pouch will treat up to eight pounds of seed.
