Description
Hybrid. The manteca type dry bean has long been grown in Chile for its easily digestible "gas-less" properties, believed to be due to the tannins in its seed coat. Dr. Colin Leakey of the U.K. developed this variety to grow outside of Chilean climates, so we can now enjoy this fiber and protein-rich bean here. Let the pods dry on the plant, then harvest and prepare like any other dry bean.
