Artichoke Seeds
The artichoke is a beautiful, short lived, perennial thistle plant. The outer sepals or bud covers are eaten cooked and the hearts can be marinated and canned or sometimes frozen. Artichokes grow best sown in fall and in areas with mild winters, or spring sown in sunny, cool, summer areas. They can be grown as annuals and will do well in the North if given an early start and good care. Artichokes are a gourmet favorite of home gardeners and are very easy to grow.
