Crisphead Seeds

Known for their crispy, succulent texture and very mild flavor, lettuces in this class are essential as the background flavor in complex salad creations with fuller and stronger greens. A tight, firm head of crisp leaves usually characterizes these varieties. In general, crisphead lettuces are less tolerant of hot weather, thus are ideally adapted to northern climates. If you live in a warmer area, try starting in late summer to mature in the cooler weather of fall.
