True red romaines are hard to find, but this jewel is the real deal. We test many red lettuces every year and 'Silvia' instantly stood out from the crowd. Extra large leaves are deep wine red from base to tip. More upright and loose than other romaines, it is also a prized choice to cut early for baby greens. Crisp and hearty, it makes a unique and stunning classic Caesar salad.
